Eagle Kazak

Eagle rugs refer to a group of Caucasian Kazak carpets that display large geometric motifs resembling stylized eagles. The design usually appears as a bold central figure composed of angular forms that suggest outspread wings. These rugs are associated with the Kazak weaving traditions of the southern Caucasus and are known for their strong tribal designs, vibrant colors, and powerful geometric compositions. Because of their striking design and recognizable motif, Eagle Kazaks are among the most admired types of Caucasian rugs. Same as Cloudband Kazaks Eagle Kazaks are also from the village of Chelarberd, therefore they should be attributed to Karabagh and not Kazak.

These type Kazaks may be found in several styles, from a single medallion to as many as four or more. The Single Medallion are the rarest of all and in demand with collectors.

The eagle Kazaks are also known as Chelarberd, sunburst or Adler Kazaks.
