Blossom Carpet

Blossom carpets refer to Persian rugs featuring dense floral patterns that resemble blossoming flowers spread across the field of the carpet. These designs are commonly found in classical Persian carpets, particularly those produced during the Safavid period, when floral motifs became an important element of court carpet design. Blossom carpets often display intricate vines, palmettes, and floral sprays arranged in balanced compositions. It's also a design classification of early Caucasian rugs. The oldest rugs of this design are 18 Century Caucasian carpets derived from Dragon carpets. Early examples show a leaf lattice which contains palmetts and a variety of floral motifs.
