Karakacheli (Karakachili)
Knotted carpets and kilims whose main decoration consists of flowers are known in Anatolia as Chichekli, a name derived from the word Chichek meaning a flower.
It is not certain to which racial group the Karakachili or “Black Goat” tribe belongs. Some refer to them as the “Gypsy” tribes of the area but it appears to be more opposing to it. These magnificent rugs were woven in the Bergama area and are quite rare.
