Beluch(Baluch)
The Beluch tribe
is a nomadic tribe that lives throughout eastern part of Persia.
They belong to the Sunni sect of Muslims and speak Baluch.
The Beluchi rugs appear in
a wide range of bold, geometric motifs including large octagons,
cones, eight pointed stars and alternating rows of diamonds.
Beluchis are woven along the Iran-Pakistan border and inside
of Afghanistan. Persian Belouchi are more detailed than most
Turkoman rugs and are finely knotted .
The most important and original
Beluch rugs are made in the Province of Khorassan in Iran
( Meshed region). Meshed Baluch are normally finely knotted
and are of better quality than those from Afghanistan or Pakistan.
